Deadlines and Information for Society Members

Manuscript Submission Deadline for 2009 Meetings
     Southern & Middle Section - January 5, 2009
     Eastern Section - January 16, 2009
     Western Section - January 23, 2008
     Annual Meeting (at COSM) - May 22, 2009

August 1 - deadline for online submission of abstracts for the 2009 Section Meetings.

September 4 - deadline for submission of theses.  Theses are due for candidates elected at the Section meetings in 2007 and prior to 2007.  The official deadline for new candidates elected in January, 2008 is September, 2009.  Requests for extensions must be made by candidates by August 15th.

October 1 - deadline for submission of new candidate materials.  Guidelines and application materials are available on the Membership link.   Candidate credentials will be presented and voted on at the 2009 Section business meetings.  For potential candidates who are concerned about submission of a thesis, guidance is available by contacting our office. 

October 15 - deadline for online submission of abstracts for the 2009 Annual meeting at COSM.

October 21 - online registration opens for 2009 Section Meetings.  Brochures will be mailed and information will be available on our website in September. 

December 15 - letters of intent due for the Triological Career Development Awards.  These awards are available to otolaryngologists who hold faculty appointments and have made a commitment to focus their research endeavors on patient oriented research.  Up to five awards in the amount of $40,000 are available.

January 15 - applications due for the Triological Career Development Awards.

April 15 - application deadline for the Triological/American College of Surgeons Clinical Scientist Development Award.  This grant will provide supplement funding to otolaryngologists-head and neck surgeons who
· receive a new NIH Mentored Clinical Scientist Development Award (K08/K23) in 2009
    OR
· have an existing award with a minimum of 3 years remaining in the funding period as of June 1, 2009.

This award will provide financial support in the amount of $80,000 per year for up to five years to supplement the NIH award.
